Pen Chance has been performing in multiple settings since he was a child. From the age of 8, Pen was able to participate in hundreds of theatre productions around his hometown of Augusta, GA before moving away to pursue higher education. Pen received his Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre Arts Administration and a Minor in Music from Catawba College, located in Salisbury, NC. As part of his education, he worked behind the scenes as often as he did on stage, taking on tasks from carpentry, electrics, to management. He served as an assistant to the foreman in the scene shop, and in the management shop as the co-editor of the theatre department's monthly newsletter, The Spotlight. Pen also served as the Business Manager to the Catawba chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, the largest dramatic honor society in the world.

After graduating college in 2015, Pen spent two years employed with Charleston Stage Company, South Carolina's largest regional theatre, working as a Resident Actor, Production Assistant, and Teaching Artist. He performed in 15 different productions at the historic Dock Street Theatre, and taught in over 20 surrounding schools.

Pen spent the 2017-2018 school year on tour with the Merry Go Round Playhouse (now the Rev Theatre Company) Youth Tour, based out of Auburn, NY. In that time, he worked as an actor, teaching artist, and road manager, mounting 3 separate plays and touring them to over 70 different school districts in upstate New York.

In June of 2018, Pen joined the national tour of Nickelodeon’s highly successful children’s program, “Paw Patrol”, as Mayor Humdinger in PAW Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue. While on tour, Pen is an employee of both VStar Entertainment Group based out of Minneapolis, and the worldwide leaders in live entertainment, Cirque du Soleil. Tour has taken Pen all over the country, performing in legendary venues such as The Fox Theatre (Atlanta and Detroit), The Chicago Theatre, Tulsa’s BOK Center, and Madison Square Garden. Pen is currently on tour.

When he is not working in the theatre, Pen enjoys making music. Pen is classically trained in voice and violin, and a self-taught drummer. He has played in multiple bands that have opened for acts like NeedToBreathe, Parmalee, Parachute, and Darius Rucker.
